Our Radarcape is simply the best ADS-B receiver for aircraft observation (flight tracker) currently available. With it’s high sensitivity it provides an excellent far reaching reception range. The FPGA decoder, for its part, ensures loss-free high throughput. Radarcape includes an embedded Linux system (BeagleBone, ARM CPU) providing connectivity directly to your (home-) network. A USB socket on the front connects supports further system extensions (e.g. USB sticks, W-LAN adapters, etc.). The Radarcape 1CH features a single highly sensitive antenna input. For special reception conditions (antenna diversity) or better results at high signal intensities (e.g., near taxiing aircraft), please consider the 2CH or HDR (High Dynamic Range) versions. Radarcapes are shipped with pre-installed software. The user-friendly Web interface lets you operate and configure your Radarcape. Please note the license conditions.
The most relevant features
- Currently the best receiver available on the market: The Radarcape uses an intelligent FPGA to decode received frames with hardware support. This guarantees substantially higher performance than receivers using software decoding and/or software defined radios (USB Sticks / SDR Dongles).
- High-precision time stamps for multilateration: The integrated GPS receiver provides a time base used for high-precision time stamping of received transponder frames, which enables multilateration (MLAT) to precisely locate aircraft without ADS-B. MLAT requires three or more Radarcapes (or Air!Squitters), all “seeing” the aircraft. The jetvision MLAT Network will then compute the aircraft’s position. Multilateration requires an MLAT service subscription, which jetvision provides free of charge for participating private users.
- Standalone ADS-B feeder: Radarcapes can be operated in standalone mode and operated continuously, day and night, to feed to platforms such as flightradar24, FlightAware or the Planeplotter network. No connection to a separate PC is required.
- Quick and easy installation: Radarcape is ready for flight tracking as soon as it is connected. No additional drivers have to be installed on your PC.
- Direct system access via SSH: Experienced users can install their own applications directly on the Linux computer with administrator access.
- Low power consumption: With a power consumption of less than 5 W, the Radarcape has a very low power consumption. (4 types of wall plugs available: EU/ US/ Australia/ UK. We ship the one that matches the destination country) passenden)
- Data for virtual radar software: With the Radarcape you can receive Mode-S data for various applications. For example, Planeplotter and Active Display Lite can be directly connected to the Radarcape via the network. The network connection enables you to place your Radarcape and your PC at different locations.
- 3D map for Google Earth: The Radarcape’s integrated web server provides detected flight routes as kml files, allowing you to display air traffic tracks as 3D-visualisation in Google Earth.
- 2D map in the web browser: Observe airplanes in live mode on a 2D map in your web browser.
